Create and adjust staffing allocations
Project-team membership determines which companies participate in a project. A staffing allocation adds planning information—role and hours—for an eligible member on a specific project.
A person can be a project team member with zero allocated hours. Conversely, adding a new eligible employee or contractor through Staffing can also add that entity to the project team.
Allocate from a project- Open Org > Staffing > Projects.
- Select the project.
- In Team & Roles, add an eligible team member if needed.
- Assign or change the member's role.
- Set the allocated hours per week.
- Review the member's overall allocation and the project's budgeted hours.
TimeSentry prevents an increase beyond the member's remaining weekly capacity. Reductions remain available even if the person is already over-allocated. If more capacity is genuinely available, update weekly hours from the Team view; otherwise reduce another project allocation.
Reallocate from a team memberOpen Staffing > Team, select the person, and adjust hours across their listed projects. This view is useful when redistributing a fixed capacity between engagements.
Remove an allocation or team memberReducing hours to zero keeps the relationship visible without planned hours. Removing a member from the project team is a broader action and can affect project participation. Confirm whether you want to remove only the staffing plan, the role assignment, or project membership.
Keep units consistentAllocations are stored as weekly hours. Monthly views scale them for display. Enter the stable weekly run rate rather than multiplying it before saving.
