Connect and configure Clio or Clio EU
Open Integrations and select Clio for the standard region or Clio EU for a European Clio account. Authorize the correct firm. A connection to the wrong region will not expose the intended data.
Connecting Clio or Clio EU from the free tier starts a 14-day Professional trial. Confirm that the active TimeSentry company represents the firm being connected.
Configure the connectionOpen Clio in Manage Integrations. Depending on enabled features, you can:
- map TimeSentry projects, matters, or cases to Clio matters;
- import contacts as TimeSentry companies;
- import matter-contact relationships;
- import activity categories;
- import documents from selected matters;
- import expense entries;
- configure automatic synchronization of time or matters.
Additional options can control email communications and no-charge behavior. Review each setting against firm billing policy before enabling automation.
Import safelyMap existing records before using broad import actions. Start with a small sample, then review created, updated, and skipped counts. Confirm client, matter, responsible person, billing status, activity category, date, and amount in both systems.
Avoid duplicatesDo not import contacts or matters repeatedly while an earlier background job is running. Search both systems and inspect mappings before retrying. If an imported record already exists under another name, correct the mapping rather than creating a third copy.
