Record meetings with the desktop app

Choose a recording policy

Open the meeting section in desktop settings. TimeSentry can detect supported Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet calls. Choose the policy that matches your organization:

  • Always: record supported meetings automatically.
  • Never: do not record meetings.
  • Prompt Consent: ask for confirmation before each meeting is recorded.

Use the most restrictive setting required by law, client agreements, workplace policy, and participant consent. A technical ability to record does not replace your obligation to obtain any required permission.

During a meeting

Keep TimeSentry Desktop running. The status area indicates whether it is watching for meetings, recording automatically, or waiting for confirmation. When Prompt Consent is selected, respond to the prompt before recording begins.

If a meeting should not continue recording, use Stop current recording. Do not rely on leaving a meeting or closing a browser tab as your only privacy control.

Review recordings

Use Recent recorded meetings to confirm capture. Recorded meetings are associated with the company selected in desktop settings, so choose the correct company before the call. Review any resulting work record in TimeSentry and assign the appropriate client, project, description, duration, and billable status.

Troubleshoot detection

Confirm that the meeting platform is supported, the desktop service is running, and the meeting policy is not Never. If Prompt Consent is enabled, verify that the confirmation was accepted. Record the platform, meeting start time, selected policy, and desktop status if you need support.
