Connect Microsoft Teams Chat or Google Chat
Open Integrations and select Teams Chat or Google Chat. Complete the provider authorization for the intended Microsoft tenant or Google account, then verify the connection in TimeSentry.
Teams Chat is separate from Teams Phone and Outlook Mail. Google Chat is separate from Gmail and Google Calendar. Connect only the services your company intends to use.
Configure rulesChat integration rules can use message content, channel name, and sender name. Create a rule for a reliable client or project signal, choose whether all or any conditions must match, select the target project, and begin with Save.
Review several captured items before changing the action to Save & Sync or Save & Submit. General words, common channel names, and employee names can produce false matches.
If chat activity is missingConfirm that the correct service and organization are connected, the rule is active, and a higher rule did not match first. Check the active company and source/date filters in the time-entry or reconciliation view. Provider administrators may also restrict app access or revoke consent.
PrivacyChat messages can contain privileged, personal, or internal information. Use descriptions that explain the work without reproducing unnecessary message text. Follow workspace retention and client-confidentiality policies.
