Configure project naming, billing, and capture settings
Under the Projects section, choose Project, Matter, or Case. TimeSentry uses the selected term throughout supported screens. The terminology changes labels, not the underlying relationship between clients, projects, time, and contracts.
Set financial defaultsEnable Use Default Billing Rate and enter the default hourly rate when the company needs a fallback. Project, contract, role, or external-system rules may override it. Enable billing-data visibility only for users who should see financial information.
Guide AI mappingWhere available, configure mapping explanations, custom mapping instructions, additional context, and projects that should always be included or excluded. Use precise, stable guidance such as a client domain or internal codename relationship. Do not place secrets in mapping instructions.
Always-include and always-exclude lists can materially change suggestion results. Review them after projects close or client relationships change.
Categories and coding standardsEnable activity categories for reusable classification and billable defaults. Enable UTBMS when required, manage activity/task code sets, and select defaults for new projects. Confirm contract and client requirements before changing a default code set.
