Track Word work with the TimeSentry Office add-in

Start the add-in

Open the TimeSentry task pane in Microsoft Word and sign in. Select the Company first; its selection determines which clients and projects are available. Then select the Client and Project for the document work.

Track and describe the work
  1. Select Start Timer when work begins.
  2. Select Stop Timer when the session ends.
  3. Confirm the Billable setting.
  4. Enter a Description, or choose AI Draft to generate a proposed description from the document context and recorded activity.
  5. Review and edit the description. Do not submit sensitive document text or an inaccurate AI draft merely because it was generated automatically.
  6. Select Submit Time Entry.

The submit button remains unavailable until the required company, client, project, description, and timing information is ready.

Automatic activity and desktop relay

The add-in can record document activity while it is open. When TimeSentry Desktop is installed on the same computer, Office activity may be relayed through the local desktop companion. A short synchronization delay is normal.

If a selection is missing

Confirm the company first, then reselect the client so its projects reload. If the timer or description does not update, keep the document open, confirm connectivity and sign-in, and avoid submitting a second entry until you know whether the first succeeded.
