Track Excel work with the TimeSentry Office add-in

Configure the entry

Open the TimeSentry task pane in Microsoft Excel and sign in. Select Company, Client, and Project in that order. The company establishes the record owner, while the client and project classify the work.

Run the timer
  1. Select Start Timer when spreadsheet work begins.
  2. Select Stop Timer when finished.
  3. Review the elapsed time and the Billable setting.
  4. Add a Description. Use AI Draft if you want a proposed description based on workbook context and captured activity.
  5. Edit the proposed description so it is accurate and safe to share.
  6. Select Submit Time Entry and wait for the confirmation screen.
Protect workbook information

Workbook contents can contain financial, employee, or customer information. Follow your organization's data-handling policy and review every generated description. A useful time-entry description usually names the analysis or deliverable without reproducing source data, formulas, account numbers, or personal information.

Resolve common issues

If Project is disabled, select a client first. If the expected client is absent, verify the company. If the task pane is signed out, sign in again before restarting the timer. When synchronization is uncertain, check the web or mobile entry list before creating a replacement.
