Install and use the TimeSentry Chrome extension
Install the official TimeSentry extension from the Chrome Web Store or your organization's managed browser catalog. Pin it to the toolbar for quick access, open it, and sign in.
Before tracking, select a company. The company controls which clients and projects are available and where captured work belongs. If a client or project is missing, confirm the company first.
Choose a tracking mode- Automatic tracking: captures eligible website activity while you work and sends it in periodic batches.
- Manual tracking: lets you explicitly start and stop a website timer.
Automatic tracking pauses after approximately five minutes of idle or locked-computer time and resumes when activity returns. Chrome's own internal pages, such as chrome:// and extension pages, are not tracked.
Open the extension to review tracked time. Select the client and project, edit the description and duration when needed, confirm whether the entry is billable, and submit it. Treat automatically produced details as a draft: confirm that the page activity represents work for the selected client before submission.
Troubleshoot synchronizationAllow about six minutes for a normal automatic batch. Confirm that a company is selected, tracking is active, and Chrome is online. After repeated batch failures, the extension displays an error banner. If that happens, preserve the message, check sign-in, and avoid repeatedly submitting the same activity until you know whether the earlier attempt succeeded.
